The
GC2502 high precision carat balance with 3 door removable
glass draft shield, RS-232 interface and the new innovative
triangular weighing pan shape. Calibration is achieved
with the 200 gram Class 1 calibration mass that is included
with each GC2502. If you purchased a CP-Series
the 200 gram cal mass is an $134 option, but the cal mass
comes with the GC2502 at no extra cost. In addition
you receive a 3 door glass draft shield with the GC2502
while the CP Milligram Series
has the triangular draft shield with a hinged top lid.
The GC2502 is a much nicer and usable draft shield in our
opinion.

Sartorius GC2502 features a 0-2500 ct x 0.005ct for weighing

The GC2502 is the ultimate milligram balances for the lapidary marketplace.
The GC2502 has very similar features to the Sartorius
CP423S but sold for hundreds less. Basically, the gem market
place is extremely price sensitive market sector verses the laboratory
marketplace so Sartorius developed the GC2502 with a special price
to meet the pricing requirements for the jewelry marketplace.
Whether you're weighing diamonds or chemical compounds the GC2502 weighs
from 0 to 2500 carats (0-500 grams) weighing capacity in 0.005 carats
(1mg) intervals.
One feature that we really like is low profile 3 door draft shield
that eliminates air currents from interfering with the weighing platform
typical found only on analytical balances like the Sartorius
CP Analytical Balances. The height from pan to top of glass
door is only 6.37 inch high with the GC2502 saving you lots
of bench space.
 The
GC2502 produces steady readings using the high stability mode and
the unique Sartorius weighing system even if the environmental conditions
are not ideal for precision weighing. The Double Lever System,
or DLS, for short based on its special force transmission design.
With this patented system, Sartorius sets the technological standards
for the new millennium. Patented, this new "small"
system is cut from a single block of a special, highly rugged aluminum
alloy using high-speed 21st century milling technology. The
double lever principle offers two decisive advantages: the design
in the area of the pan linkage is highly resistant to mechanical stress
and therefore has exceptionally high mechanical stability, and the
system is about half the size of the monolithic block cell, allowing
for a smaller footprint. Like the monolithic weigh cell, it
is cut from a single block of aluminum and no screw fasteners are
needed between functional parts. This keeps the system less
sensitive to fluctuations in temperature, and with fewer parts there
is less chance of failure.
The Monolithic DLS system offers unbeatable advantages for daily use
like Incredibly fast response time and Unfailing reliability
and near-zero susceptibility to interference. The reasons
for these considerable advantages are two fold: the number of individual
parts has been reduced by more than 70% and the mechanical construction
has been designed to last for years of trouble-free operations. |

You can attach a sample using a suspension wire, for example.
Common applications for weighing below the balance includes
density determination. Sartorius recommends to complete
the balance with the density kit YDK01
and modify the balance with a higher weighing chamber for more
space in handling the sample. |

gem pan, & 200 gram calibration mass. The GC2502
features a external calibration and is achieved by a a
simple press of the button from the keypad and placing
the 200 gram weight on the weighing platform.
